At the beginning of 2024 our client appointed us to redesign and extend a single storey property that he had recently purchased.  The property is in need of extensive work to bring the fabric and layout up to modern day standards.  It was therefore an opportunity to completely reconfigure the existing internal layout and extend the property on the front elevation increasing the floor area by 30%.  The new extension provides a entrance hallway, office, utility room and large bathroom.  The extension links to the existing house which has been reconfigured to provide two double bedrooms and a living room and kitchen.  The house will be fully insulated and a new heating system installed during the works.

 

Externally the extension is mono-pitched and connected to the existing house with a flat roofed section.  There will be rooflights in both the mono-pitch and the existing roof which will flood the spaces with natural light.  The extension will be clad in dark grey cedral cladding with dark grey windows and an accent of colour in the orange front door.
